The beginning of the school year for Russian schoolchildren and students should be postponed for a month, said State Duma deputy from the LDPR Vasily Vlasov. In his opinion, prolonging summer vacations until October 1 will allow young people to gain work experience or relax in the resorts of the Russian Federation in the so-called velvet season.

In his letter to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, who is responsible for the social block, including issues of education and science, Vlasov indicated that students have a very high load in summer due to exams, as a result of which the holidays last only two months . At the same time, many students also work in the summer.

According to him, he discussed this issue during meetings with young people in the regions, this initiative received support from them.

“It must be remembered that employers require graduates to have work experience. Extending the summer holidays will partially solve this problem, ”RIA Novosti quotes the text of the letter of the parliamentarian.

Along with this, Vlasov believes that the innovation will positively affect the development of tourism in Russia.

“We are a northern country. We perfectly understand the cost of children's vacations at the height of summer, in August, and we perfectly understand that in September there is still a velvet season in Crimea, Sevastopol, Krasnodar Territory, ”360 television quotes him.

According to the State Duma deputy, a pilot project to change the start of the school year can be launched in the Far East - in the Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories.

Earlier, RT reported that Golikova received an appeal from the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science Boris Chernyshov. He took the initiative to create the “September Capital” program, under which additional funds will be allocated to parents to cover the cost of collecting a child by the beginning of the school year.

Recall that Vladimir Zhirinovsky repeatedly spoke with ideas on extending the summer vacation. In addition, in 2017, deputies from the LDPR party submitted a bill to the State Duma that allows municipalities to postpone the start date of the school year to October 1. In their opinion, this step would allow taking into account the national and climatic features of the regions. Meanwhile, the proposal did not receive support, including in the Federation Council and the National Parents' Committee.

In addition, a joint working group of the Ministry of Education, Rospotrebnadzor, Rosobrnadzor and the Russian Academy of Education proposed limiting the use of mobile gadgets in schools. In addition, the Ministry of Education received a letter proposing the introduction of computer game lessons, in particular, Dota 2, Hearthstone, Dota Underlords, FIFA, World of Tanks, Minecraft and CodinGame. The department rejected the possibility of implementing such an initiative.

“First you need to weigh all these things”

It is unclear why such proposals are being put forward, said Gennady Onishchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science. According to him, such an innovation will make the load in the framework of the school curriculum prohibitive, since it is not possible to reduce the academic year.

“In addition, the summer period is specially selected for the holidays, as the most favorable period for rest and recreation. And autumn, even in Moscow, in September, is not the most pleasant period. Of course, you need to listen to both students and schoolchildren, but you also need to ask teachers. You can, of course, not only write Golikova, but also to the United Nations, but first you need to weigh all these things. Because any similar radical shift in the educational process, it has not been worked through to the end, ”explained the interlocutor of RT.

In turn, the chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, Valery Ryazansky, was wary of initiatives that proposed extending vacations or shortening the working week.

“To be honest, this tendency“ to work less, study less ”is alarming. It seems to me that we now need to work very intensively in order to cope with the tasks set by national projects. And we are in the mood, we’d like to walk and rest more. Not the situation now. It’s not for me to decide, and I think that this is a question of the Ministry of Education, but in my opinion, such an excessively rosy mood “we won’t do anything, everything will work out on our own,” is extremely alarming, ”the senator said in an interview with RT.

Recall that before September 30, the Ministry of Labor should submit to the government its position on reducing the working week in Russia to four days. As pointed out by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, such a transition is possible, but "not this second."

“More recently - in historical terms - there was a six-day work week in our country, and this was seen as the norm. And now the five-day work week is the norm. But society is developing, technology does not stand still, which is why these issues appear on the agenda, ”the head of government explained.
