Vice President Mike Pence hopes to sign a 5G pact with Poland during his visit to Warsaw this weekend, a senior US administration official said on Friday.
This pact to deal with the new risks involved in this new technology is "at the top of our list" of priority, said the official on condition of anonymity.
Few details have been revealed about the content of the future statement, but it will highlight "the importance of a common US-Poland approach to 5G," according to the same official.
The United States urge their allies, with mixed success, to reject the Chinese 5G technology, especially that developed by the giant Huawei.
"The United States and some of its closest allies, including Poland, are working" on a coordinated strategy, including a focus on "supply chain security," said the senior official.
Washington fears that Huawei will provide Beijing with a means of spying on the communications of countries that use its products and services.
The Trump administration in May placed Huawei on a list of companies that are prohibited from selling technology products. Last week, however, it extended the exemption period granted to certain US customers and suppliers of the Chinese giant by 90 days.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has sought to build strong ties with Donald Trump's White House, and according to senior official Friday, Washington is "grateful for the incredible support provided by this important ally".
