The politician behind the decision: "Many have misunderstood"

Many have reacted to the politicians' decision that school staff and municipal employees should no longer be allowed to buy lunch in the school dining rooms and eat together with the students in Kungälv municipality.

- Yes, there are very many reactions, but most people have misunderstood everything. We still have educational meals and teachers who eat together with the students. This is about others, who do not work during lunch, who come into the dining room and eat, says Anna Vedin (M) Education Council in Kungälv.

It was when the principal of the high school secondary school Trekungagymnasiet Magnus Haglund went out in Kungälvsposten and SVT Nyheter Väst and criticized the decision that many readers reacted critically to the politicians.

- We have had the school inspector here on a visit who pointed out that the school dining room is already a safe place. How will it be if even more teachers disappear from the dining room, Magnus Haglund told SVT News West on Thursday.

Something that Anna Vedin (M) stands by without understanding.

- The headmaster can always schedule staff in the dining room if needed. And the principal determines how many teachers are required during an educational meal. Again, this is about teachers who do not work during lunch, municipal employees and others who eat at their lunch, says Anna Vedin (M).

She believes that today there are unauthorized persons in the dining room which is a safety risk, and that by law they should not over-produce food for sale. In addition, the school should not compete against lunch places outside.
