Bolivian President Evo Morales lost his way in the forest while escorting a fire-fighting team into the Bolivian part of the Amazon jungle.
"We had a little adventure last night," the Bolivian president told reporters in the region of Roboré, in eastern Bolivia. "It was almost an hour late, but thanks to the soldiers we were able to find the way back," he told AFP.
Ono television broadcast a brief video of Evo Morales repeatedly asking, "Where are you? Where are you?", According to the Teller Report website.
The Morales joined a team of firefighters, and lost in a forest near the village of Capio Muerto in the area of San Ignacio de Velasco in the east of the country, according to "Agence France Presse".
In his press statements in Roborah on Thursday, the Bolivian president said that the number of fires spread in the region, part of the Amazon forests, amounted to 342 fires, double the fires of the previous day.
Forest fires in Bolivia's Chiquitania and Bantanal regions, which have intensified in August, have brought about 1.2 million hectares since May.
