The man who is now being arrested is suspected of murdering a 45-year-old woman in Örebro in May last year. The same man was also arrested in June last year, then on the lower degree of suspicion, but after a week he was released.

However, the man has never been dismissed from the investigation and on Tuesday he was arrested again, then on probable cause suspected of having murdered the woman, thus the higher degree of suspicion.

Today, the prosecutor had to make a decision on whether the man should be released or arrested. For the investigation, it was a fight against the clock and as of yesterday, the police were at the home of the suspected murderers and were looking for evidence with dogs.

But now the prosecutor, Åsa Hiding, believes that she has enough evidence that the district court will now decide that the man should be arrested.

The Prosecutor believes there is a risk that the suspected man may be able to destroy evidence or otherwise complicate the investigation if released.

The prosecutor also requests that the man be restricted while he is detained.

According to the police, the detention hearing will probably be held during the afternoon.

Another person is being arrested on suspicion of murder. That person must be requested to be arrested or released by 12 noon tomorrow, Saturday.
