Many places in the world prevent visitors and residents from using their mobile phones for a variety of reasons, ranging from the desire to preserve the features they embrace, to their privacy that does not accept the use of the phone for photography or even make a call.

Visitors to these sites must hide their phones and not use them to avoid being subjected to sanctions, despite the widespread use of phones in our time and classified as the basic communication tools to make calls and connect to the Internet and send messages, photos and videos and document what is happening in the world.

Sara Romero, in a report published in the Spanish magazine Moi Intersente, lists the sites where the use of phones is prohibited:

Church of Sistina, Italy
The guards who oversee the Sistine Chapel in Italy at the Vatican are constantly reminded of the ban on taking pictures or videos inside the church room, and deny visitors the beautiful mural paintings of the famous painter and sculptor Michelangelo Bonarotti.

Green Bank
The use of mobile phones in the small US city of Greenbank is illegal because of the impact of phones on an observatory where researchers listen to explosive galaxies on the edge of the universe.

The noise from these galaxies is usually very low, while the mobile phone emits - even if not in use - about three watts of sound, absorbing the noise scientists are trying to capture, affecting research results.
