LR MEP François-Xavier Bellamy, who is also a professor of philosophy, said Friday that the reform of the high school that comes into force for this year is "very complicated" and "goes against the meaning of what is needed".

"As a high school teacher and elected, I do not understand this reform" bac "which is actually a reform of the high school," said Franceinfo former head of the list in the European elections, criticizing the fact that it "is characterized by a very great complexity to understand a schedule".

"It goes some way against what would be necessary," he lamented because it "will diminish the general culture" while the "main problem of our National Education today is that 'it fails to transmit the fundamental knowledge'.

Another reproach, it "makes specialization earlier" while "our students have more and more difficult to determine their future".

"This reform is probably the first goal (...) to reduce the number of hours of classes for students from an economic perspective," he accused.

Three days before their students, teachers make their return Friday with a reform of the high school generating "stress" and "uncertainty" for teachers of Première, who fear dysfunctions in schedules and additional workload.

The Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, opened the door on Tuesday for changes to this reform during his press conference.
