By Opheera McDoom KHARTOUM (Reuters) - Sudan's prime minister-designate Abdallah Hamdouk and the forces of freedom and change agreed on Wednesday to delay the announcement of the composition of the transitional government for 48 hours.

Hamdouk's office said in a circular that the two parties agreed to postpone the review of lists of candidates and candidates for ministerial positions and specialized councils, according to a specific timetable.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mohammed Ziauddin, a leader in the island's Freedom and Change Forces, said the interim government's announcement was postponed after a joint meeting with the Central Council of Freedom Forces.

The composition of the government was supposed to be announced on Wednesday, a day after the prime minister-designate received a list of forces of freedom with the names of 49 candidates for 14 ministries, and 16 candidates for five specialized councils.

The sources of the island reported that the Sudanese prime minister-designate asked the forces of freedom and change to provide him with additional options for some ministries.

On the other hand, Hamdouk held consultations with members of the Sovereign Council regarding coordination of work in the next phase.
