The approaching storm Dorian that traveled past Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean on Wednesday is expected to grow into a major hurricane on Friday. This is reported by the National Hurricane Center in the United States.
According to Weerplaza, the center of Dorian is located northeast of the Caribbean islands and the storm is moving towards the American state of Florida.
Dorian is currently a first-class hurricane and has already caused a lot of rain and mudflows on the Dutch island of Saba.
Governor Florida has declared a state of emergency
The governor of the US state of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has already declared a state of emergency for the approaching hurricane.
DeSantis calls on the residents of the east coast to keep a close eye on the storm. "Every Florida resident must have supplies for seven days, including food, water and medicine," he said in a statement.
