At Lugnet in Växjö, Kärnhem is now building in our homes. When Skanska exploded in connection with the work on the foundation last Friday, something went wrong. According to an incident report to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, one end of the cover mat over the explosive itself was lifted, which resulted in stones flying into the air.

The stones met neighboring Rasmus Medin's house and both a glass door and stone slabs on Rasmus's patio were broken, something that Smålandsposten was the first to tell.

Rasmus's two-year-old son was asleep in the house when the bang occurred. The son woke up and screamed and Rasmus ran out to check what had happened. There he met two people who came running and stated that the blast had gone wrong.

"Not apologized"

As Rasmus looked around, he saw several stones on the balcony.

- My opinion is that if someone had stayed in front of the house, the risk would have been great for serious personal injury or death, Rasmus says of the incident.

However, no one was injured, but on the other hand it was shocking to both Rasmus and his son.

- I have been in contact with Skanska and Kärnhem, but received no apology. It is quite common to apologize, says Rasmus Medin.

Seriously according to Skanska

According to Ulf Palmqvist, regional manager at Skanska, the incident is taken very seriously.

- We take this very seriously, he says.

- But the most important thing was that no one was injured.

Both the Swedish Work Environment Authority and Skanska themselves will now investigate the incident. Ulf Palmqvist expects Skanska's investigation to be completed in two to three weeks.
