The thunderstorms went well during Wednesday afternoon and evening over southern Östergötland. A 600 kilogram pregnant cow became so frightened that she went down in a cart outside a farm between Kisa and Åtvidaberg.
When the owner discovered her later in the evening, you could only see her head and some of her back. He first tried to save the cow himself, but after a while realized that it was impossible. The rescue services in Björkfors and the rescue service from Kisa were alerted and moved out to the yard.
For several hours, the four-year-old cow was tried in various ways. Since she is pregnant and is to calve in September-October, extra care was needed.
With the help of tractor loaders, four-wheeler with winch, hoists and fire hoses, the rescue personnel finally manage to pull up the cow.
