As Japan-Korea relations worsen, former Secretary-General Kawamura, who is the secretary-general of the Japan-Korea Parliament Federation, visited Korea from the 31st, met with President Kang Chang-il, President of the Korea-Japan Parliament Federation, and “recruited” during the Pacific War. We are looking for an appropriate response to the problem.

Former Secretary-General Kawamura of the Liberal Democratic Party, who is the secretary-general of the Japan-Korea Parliamentary Federation made up of bipartisan members, visits Korea for 4 days from 31st and participates in exchange events. I will meet with President Kang of the Diet Member League.

At the meeting, Mr. Kawamura would like to discuss the next schedule of the joint assembly of the Diet members, which was postponed after South Korea decided to cancel the military information comprehensive protection agreement with Japan = GSOMIA.

Then, regarding the issue of “recruitment” during the Pacific War, we will seek appropriate responses from the Korean side, saying, “First of all, Korea should show its attitude to keep the promises of each country”.

Mr. Kawamura is also coordinating a meeting with Prime Minister Lee Na Kyung of South Korea in the hope of exchanging opinions on how to cooperate in terms of security based on the decision to abolish GSOMIA.
