The Houthis announced that they bombed what they described as military targets at the airport of Abha in southern Saudi Arabia with a winged cruise missile, while Riyadh admitted that the airport was bombed, and spoke at the same time about the interception of a Houthi drone.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Serai said late on Wednesday that the Quds 1 projectile had hit the military operations center and warplanes.
Commenting on the Houthi announcement, a spokesman for the Saudi-UAE coalition Turki al-Maliki confirmed the fall of what he described as a hostile projectile at Abha International Airport on Wednesday evening.
Maliki said the shelling did not result in injuries at the airport, which had been bombed by the Houthis with a cruise missile in June, wounding 26 people and material damage, and then by drones left behind the killing of a Syrian resident, according to official Saudi statements at the time.

Maliki called the Houthi attack a terrorist, saying the Houthis continued to target civilians and civilian sites protected under international humanitarian law.
In a statement, the Saudi-UAE coalition said in a statement that it had shot down a Houthi drone on Wednesday.
For months, the Houthis have attacked Saudi airports, military bases and oil facilities in response to what they call the aggression against Yemen.
