The changes will take effect from Monday, September 2. The reduction in traffic varies slightly between different lines.

- Broadly speaking, it is about that instead of tours every quarter during peak times in the morning and afternoon we will run every half hour instead. We need to free up resources to be able to fulfill all our assignments with the current personnel, ”says Kristoffer Hedenström.

"Must have a reasonable workload"

Much of the clutter over the past few weeks has been that there has been a great shortage of bus drivers. They are now investing in recruiting more bus drivers, which is a challenge as there is a shortage of bus drivers in much of the country.

- Our current workforce is doing a fantastic job and is doing everything they can to fulfill our mission. We need to ensure that they get a reasonable workload and we cannot or do not want to go outside the regulations for how much we can use the drivers for driving. The safety of both customers and staff must never be compromised, says Kristoffer Hedenström.

Weekend traffic also canceled

In the past, the number of trips on weekends in city traffic has been reduced by about one third. With these two changes, it is now hoped that the situation will be manageable during the autumn.

- The hope is that from now on we will not have to set up tours at short notice. It is important that we win the trust of travelers and are reliable with the valid timetables we now publish on our website, says Kristoffer Hedenström.

In the long term, the goal of the major bus change in Skellefteå is that more people will choose to go bus.
