The average price has risen by as much as 7.5 per cent to SEK 707 / m³ and never before has LRF Konsult's statistics shown an average price above SEK 700.
“The interest in buying forests in southern Sweden is still very high and a low-leveraged existing forest owner who buys more forest when the neighboring property is for sale can still make a nice overall deal. However, we urge caution for anyone planning to buy forests given recent economic trends and rising prices for forest properties. It is always important to examine the property and to ensure that there is a security space in the calculation, "says Markus Helin, Chief Broker at LRF Konsult in a press release.
LRF Konsult's assessment is that the demand for forest land will remain high during the remainder of 2019, with the price picture maintained, but where individual properties may deviate more from the average values than before.
