A US court formally closed the criminal case against Jeffrey Epstein on Thursday. The multi-millionaire suspected of child abuse died in prison earlier this month.
Judge Richard Berman said earlier that he was obliged to close the case. He still gave a stage to women who claim to have been abused as a teenager by Epstein. This gave them the opportunity to tell their story in the courtroom.
Prosecutors say the investigation into the alleged crimes of the wealthy Epstein continues. According to them, the fact that the businessman can no longer be prosecuted does not mean that any henchmen will go free.
Epstein was found lifeless in his cell on 10 August. Research has shown that he has robbed himself of life. Multi-millionaire lawyers have questioned that conclusion.
