About thirty leaders and socialist militants, colleagues of Leire Pajín and Bibiana Aido in successive governments of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, have signed a document supporting the former ministers against the "macho affirmation" of the Madrid regional vice president, Ignacio Aguado.

The signatories urge the president of Citizens, Albert Rivera, not to remain on the sidelines "of this unfortunate matter for another day."

The president of the PSOE, Cristina Narbona, and the acting vice president of the Government, Carmen Calvo, are among the signatories, almost all former ministers, of the statement of response to the "personal attack" of Aguado, who recently said he preferred not to put "pajines "or" added "in a government, when asked about the shortage of women in the new Executive of the Community of Madrid.

In the brief, to which Efe has had access, the Socialists argue that Aguado's "disgusting statement" shows, on the one hand, that "they do not find women from the PP or Citizens to do an appropriate job" in the councils Madrid and, on the other, "an intolerable attack" on two fellow ministers whose work they feel "deeply proud".

Remember at this point "the laws of equal marriage, the Law of Equality or the Law Against Gender Violence, anti-smoking laws or the voluntary termination of pregnancy for terms, or many other contributions" that bear the seal of Leire Pajín and Bibiana Aido and that "have meant real structural changes, because successive conservative governments have not dared to reverse them."

The companions of the former ministers express their desire that Aguado find men and women with those abilities: "We do want more 'pajines' and more 'aids', and we do not want more macho manifestations of our institutional representatives."

Pending a rectification, apology or condemnation of what was declared by the vice president of the Community of Madrid, the companions of Pajín and Aido demand a response from the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the leader of Citizens, Albert Rivera, who, They argue, "You cannot remain on the sidelines of this unfortunate matter for another day."

Among the signers of the statement are Miguel Sebastián, José Blanco , José Bono , Manuel Chaves, Ángel Gabilondo, Trinidad Jiménez , Ramón Jáuregui , Elena Salgado , María Teresa Fernández de la Vega and Pedro Solbes .
