The deputy, convinced 'remainer', clashed several times with Johnson on Brexit. In the resignation message, he mentions family reasons and invites parliamentarians to work for an agreement to leave the EU. The group leader Tory ai Lords, George Young, also gave way to the controversy with Johnson: a decision that "undermines the fundamental role of Parliament".
