Renaud Lavillenie, world record holder in the pole vault (6.16m), did not once again shine in the final of the Diamond League in Zurich, with a jump to 5.73m on Thursday night.

The 32-year-old Frenchman continues to chase worrying performances five days after struggling to reach 5.60m in Paris.

The 2012 Olympic champion is scheduled to play a final meeting next Wednesday in Aachen, before the World Cup in Doha (27 September - 6 October) where he will seek to win the only title missing from his huge record.
