Over 4,000 flights were canceled due to the SAS pilots' strike, which lasted for a week at the end of April. In July, about 300 affected travelers had requested compensation from the airline through the General Complaints Board.

An ARN decision is only indicative and not mandatory. Already in May, SAS said that it does not intend to pay any compensation because the strike was "an extraordinary circumstance beyond our control".
