A petition was launched this summer to denounce the sexism that affects hostesses. Alice, behind the initiative, testifies about Europe 1.

TESTIMONIAL EUROPE 1

This is the #MeToo of the summer. Hostesses took the floor to denounce the sexism that affects the profession. The movement was initiated at the end of July, with a petition calling for the removal of podium hostesses from the Tour de France. But more broadly, hundreds of women denounce the sexism of which they are victims. One of them, Alice, launched the #PasTaPotiche initiative on social networks. She was also the originator of a petition ("Let's save the job of hostess in events"), which has collected more than 25,000 signatures on exchange.org. She testifies on Europe 1.

"I talked to my agency, but they did not do anything"

On Twitter, many hostesses tell their daily life, in front of men who do not interfere: "I'm looking for an ass plan, are you interested?" or "do I win you with the contest?" And often, it's worse than heavy drag, for example when Alice was a hostess for a corporate party. "He was a big boss, he touched my breast, he took my wrists and he forced me to dance with him, it was before MeToo, I was 18," said the young wife. "I talked to my agency, but they did not do anything, they even told me that this man had attacked other hostesses and they sent me to the pipe" she is indignant.

"Every football game is at least one incident"

Does the success of #PasTaPotiche mean that nothing has changed since MeToo? If because, now, hostesses take the floor. On the other hand, it is the behaviors that do not change. "Every football match is at least one incident," says Maxim, who has been supervising hostesses for 5 years. "I'm going to tend to put the hostesses who are not going to walk on it, but I can also be wrong, sometimes I think that a person has a character enough to be sent to the front, and in the end I go the person is 'fluffy', it's tough, and we have few solutions, "he says.

Hard to find solutions

Finding solutions is indeed very complicated. Diversify the profiles of candidates, barter the skirt against the pants or even hire hosts "male": all this is possible. Except that the customer is king. And on the Tour de France for example, not sure he is ready to see not a hostess, but a man put his bouquet to the Yellow Jersey.
