The 19-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting in the murder of a toddler mother in Ribersborg has been arrested.

The mother and the doctor were taken care of with their child in the arms on Monday morning. The 19-year-old man was arrested the same evening and according to police, the arrest went smoothly.

On Thursday, the Prosecutor's Office announced that the man is being arrested for probable cause or reasonable suspicion of assisting in the murder of the woman. He is also being remanded in custody for assisting in the attempted murder of the man the woman was with as well as serious weapons offenses.

Contacted the police himself

The 19-year-old denies the crime through his defender Therese Ståhlnacke, who previously told SVT News that it was the 19-year-old himself who appeared with the police. According to Sydsvenskan, he is the registered owner of the burnt-out car found on Stadiongatan after the murder and which the police suspect is the getaway car.

The 19-year-old man is one of the twelve people charged with serious drug crimes in February 2019.

The detention hearing will be held in Malmö District Court on Thursday at 13.30.
