Japan's Kei Nishikori, seventh in the world, qualified for the third round of the US Open on Wednesday, beating American Bradley Klahn (108) 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

"It was a good match and I can not wait to play the next one," said the 2014 finalist who will face Cristian Garin (32) or Alex de Minaur (38) for a place in the round of 16. Last year, Nishikori was eliminated in half.

The Louis-Armstrong courts, where Nishikori and Arthur-Ashe played, are the only ones where the program of this third day of the US Open has started normally thanks to their roof.

The rain has indeed fallen since the morning on New York and the matches scheduled from 11:00 (17:00 French) on other courts should not start before 16:00 (22:00 French).
