It was in July this summer that several shots were fired at a property in Brandkärr. Since then, the police in Nyköping have increased their presence in the same district, and have been met with, among other things, stone throwing.

Works against the drug

- We have already agreed that we will work on the drug problem that exists here, both trade, sales and use to some extent. And we will continue to do that, says Nina Gual, municipal police in Nyköping.

According to the police, there are about 15-20 young people and young adults who should have thrown stones at the police. No one has been arrested.

Young people are drawn into unrest

- We see that we have a few criminal individuals who are active in the area. But they may also belong here, which means that they can to some extent organize the local community. We find it worrying that young people and children get involved in these unrest.

The police and the municipality believe that cooperation with the community can contribute a lot. Among other things, they try to involve more adults in night walks.
