Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said the Russian government plans to implement a large package of measures to support the birth rate in the country.

“We have to implement a large package of various forms of support for fertility, families with children, both existing and new, additional ones that we introduced this year,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

In this regard, according to the Russian Prime Minister, budget expenditures on supporting fertility in Russia will increase.

As the agency indicates, Medvedev will soon hold a series of meetings on federal budget spending for 2020 and the planning period 2021-2022.

Earlier, Medvedev said that the government will maintain a socially oriented budget for the next three years.

In May, the head of the supervisory board of the Institute of Demography, Migration and Regional Development, Yuri Krupnov, in an interview with the NSN, commented on the proposal of the Public Chamber of Russia to introduce paternal capital - a subsidy for the birth of a third child in the family.
