Russian Embassy responds to US Senator application for visa denial
The Russian embassy in Washington commented on the statement of the second American senator - Democrat Chris Murphy about the refusal to obtain a Russian visa.
“Everything that we said earlier about Senator Ron Jones’s statement can be fully applied to the words of Senator Chris Murphy,” the Russian diplomatic mission said on Twitter.
Earlier, Senator Murphy said that he was allegedly denied a visa to enter Russia as part of the delegation of the US Congress.
Prior to this, a Republican Senator Ron Johnson made a similar statement.
Later, the Russian embassy in the United States noted that Johnson did not even contact the diplomatic mission.
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the policy was put on a stop list in response to such actions by Washington in relation to Russian representatives.
