Demonstration test of electric motorcycle Air pollution serious in Indonesia starting on August 28 at 19:44

In Indonesia, where air pollution is becoming serious, Japanese manufacturers and the Indonesian government have jointly started empirical research to promote the use of electric motorcycles.

This research was conducted by NEDO, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, Honda, Panasonic, etc., with the Indonesian government, and a commemorative ceremony was held in Jakarta on the 28th.

Research is to be conducted in Bandung on Java Island and Denpasar on Bali Island. 300 electric motorcycles are rented to general users, and when batteries are depleted, they are charged at a "charging station" installed at convenience stores. Replace the whole battery with another used battery.

They want to analyze the usage conditions such as the distance traveled per day and how often the batteries are replaced, and to grasp the issues for future dissemination.

In Indonesia, air pollution caused by exhaust gas from motorcycles and cars is a serious problem.

Mr. Ayrlanga said, “This research is an important step in reducing exhaust emissions,” and expressed his desire to popularize electric motorcycles and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Indonesia is the third largest motorcycle market in the world, and Japanese manufacturers have a market share of over 90%. It will be noted whether this research will lead to the spread of electric motorcycles.
