Teachers will see their annual salary increase of "300 euros on average in 2020," said Wednesday the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, before the return he seems to want to place under the sign of appeasement, after the ferry crisis that occurred at the end of June.

Pay increases had been negotiated under the five-year term of François Hollande, but "concretely, it is under this government that increases of this type will take place: that is to say on average 300 euros for everyone (. ..) in 2020, "promised Blanquer on BFMTV.

He also highlighted other "specific measures", including priority education networks (REP). In these areas where it is "more difficult" to teach, "we are going to a premium of 2,000 euros", against 1,000 euros last year. "We go to 2,000 euros, which is added to 2,500 euros already existing premiums, so it is very significant," he argued, explaining that this measure concerns 50,000 teachers.

The minister called Tuesday at its back-to-school conference to "turn the page on the bac crisis", tainted by a strike of markers against the review reform in late June.

After a year-end under high tension, the delicate reform of the ferry, which must be effective in 2021, continues to crystallize the opposition and was an opportunity for unions to portray a deaf minister to their demands. Several organizations have already announced the filing of strike notice in September for possible new actions.
