Yesterday SVT Nyheter Blekinge told about a piece of woodland in Bastasjö that has aroused feelings among the residents in the area.

The couple who bought the land want to create five villas on parts of the land but in connection with the purchase of the land they stated that it would continue to be used as forest land.

In connection with the deal, the county administrative board expressed its opinion and had nothing to object to the couple being allowed to buy the land. But it rested on the fact that the land would continue to be used as a forest property in the future.

In its opinion to the Land Survey, the county administrative board wrote, among other things, that "measures must not be implemented that affect the objectives of the beach protection, including privatizing measures."

The authority also emphasized the importance of protecting the public right in the area and that the two ancient remains in the area should be protected.

Now, five years later, the land area has once again ended up on the county administrative board's table.

Several neighbors have appealed the municipality's positive advance notice to the five sites. They disagree with the municipality's assessment that the land area in question lacks "... special natural values or other general interests."

Decision in the autumn

The County Administrative Board's attorney Lova Larsson is the administrator in the case and says that the county administrative board in its previous opinion assumed that the land would function as a forest property.

- Then it is thought that no privatizing measures will take place. Now we get to test what conditions exist on the site - 'is it appropriate to build housing there or not?', Says Lova Larsson.

Decisions are expected to be made this fall.
