“An agreement has been reached on a preparatory meeting of diplomatic advisers to the heads of state and government on September 2 this year,” the statement said.

Earlier, Merkel and Zelensky discussed on the phone the work of the Norman format.

On August 20, French President Emmanuel Macron, at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, said that he considered it necessary to hold a meeting in the Norman format.
