The 8th Political Awareness Building Forum for University Students, organized by the National Election Commission and the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, in cooperation with the UAE University, will kick off on September 3rd, aiming to enhance the role of youth in the success of the electoral process and develop political awareness. Young people actively participate in the FNC elections 2019.

The forum, which is hosted by the university campus in Al Ain City, includes two main sessions, the first of which will focus on the youth and the elections of the Federal National Council. The role of students in elections is addressed by the head of the Department of Sociology at the UAE University, Dr. Aqeel Kazim.

In the second session, titled “Women and Empowerment of the Federal National Council”, the Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs at the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, member and rapporteur of the National Elections Commission, Dr. Saeed Al-Ghafli, speaks on the subject of the political empowerment program. Launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in 2005, the representation of women equally in the Federal National Council, while the Director of Research and Development Department of the General Women's Union, Ahlam Saeed Lemki, about the campaign of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the Women's Union M Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood main Top Family Development Foundation, «50:50» in support of the political empowerment of UAE women.

Lutah said: “The Political Awareness Building Forum for University Students is one of the most important platforms that promote political awareness of young people. Their voice is under the dome of the council and communicates their aspirations and needs. ”

He stressed that Emirati youth, with their knowledge, experience and awareness of the issues of their homeland, have become capable of making the future and able to identify and express their needs. Globally, it is important to enhance their awareness of the parliamentary work in the UAE to be an effective contributor to the development of this remarkable process that has achieved many successes and achievements. ”
