The PP has opened the door to Vox to enter Spain Suma, but the party says it does not want to know anything about this possible coalition. The formation of Santiago Abascal is about to join the utilitarian coalition project with Citizens, since it considers that it is a “marketing operation” of the PP that responds rather to its brand being “touched”, as they declare to EL MUNDO official party sources.

From Vox they understand that they are "very far" from the PP and Citizens, whom they place within the "progressive consensus" with the PSOE. Hence they consider that Spain Suma is only "a good idea to channel" that "consensus" between the three formations, but not with Vox. Because, according to these same sources, their proposals are "very contrary" to them. In contrast, PP and Citizens "are indistinguishable and do not differ from the PSOE" in many policies.

That is why they see incompatibilities when it comes to achieving common goals. "We want to change those policies devised by the left, assumed by the center and managed by the right," they say. This rejection for the general elections extends for the same reason to the regional elections of the Basque Country or Catalonia .

"The key is not the vehicle or the union itself, but what is the purpose and concrete policies." Something that the sources consulted do not believe that they occur in these places. "In Catalonia the PP agreed with PSOE and Cs the application of 155 and did not serve to restore constitutionalism," they say.

Also, remember that Vox is committed to the illegalization of the independence parties, the rejection of autonomy, end the gender ideology, lower taxes with zero debt or combat globalism. Ideas that differ from PP and Cs.

In any case, from Vox they believe that if Spain Suma were a "serious" thing, it would be done in a more subtle way, with private conversations and not through the media, but in meetings of the leaders in the same office. «In the end, I don't think Casado and Rivera have an interest in curbing the left but in capitalizing on their message and making it their own. We are in something else, ”they say in Vox.

"Unity of Spain and lower taxes"

The Deputy Secretary General of Organization of the PP, Ana Beltrán , raised yesterday the entry of Citizens and Vox in Spain Suma. "We would include all parties that are clear that the priority is the unity of Spain, the lowering of taxes and many other measures that the center right shares," he said in an interview on Onda Cero. "All parties that have that vision could participate within Spain Suma, so that no votes are lost after the disintegration of the center right," he insisted.

Two weeks ago, EL MUNDO advanced that, although the PP did not rule out Vox, it still did not invite it to join the project. Yes, he did it with the center-right regionalists with whom he believes he can build an entente to unload on the left: Unión del Pueblo Navarro , Asturias Forum , Canary Coalition , the Balearic Islands PI-Proposta per les Illes , Por Ávila , Platform Por el Pueblo Soriano and Union of the Leonés People .

"We are not going to close that door" of the incorporation of Vox, "because our goal is for the model of Madrid or Andalusia to lower taxes and more freedom to reach those institutions where the left governs", say sources from the national leadership of the PP «The objective is to extrapolate» to the national level «the model» of the investiture agreements between the popular, Cs and Vox, although now in the form of a coalition, to maximize the results, they add in Genoa.

Beltrán - number three of the PP after the departure of Javier Maroto to the Senate - explained that the premise for Navarra Suma -germen of Spain Suma- was that «in exceptional circumstances, exceptional measures had to be taken». And the country, in his opinion, "right now also has an exceptional situation and I have no doubt that Cs will prioritize the general interest of Spain over other partisan interests." «In Andalusia or Madrid we have reached program agreements with Cs and Vox», and repeating them in the form of a coalition would serve to «add» more than the left.

But Citizens continues to reject the pact strongly. Sources of the formation chaired by Albert Rivera ensure that it has not yet been raised in the governing bodies of the party, even for Catalonia or the Basque Country. "In any case, Cs works to present itself with its political project and under its acronym," they say.
