Pauline Parmentier, 81st World, was eliminated Tuesday in the first round of the US Open by the Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (45) 6-1, 7-6 (7/2).

"The beginning of the game was a little complicated, I was a little tense and she took me to the throat direct, I did not have too much time to install my game, I did not feel very good", analyzed the 33-year-old Frenchwoman.

"After, I'm able to reverse the situation in the second set, it does not make much of the end, I miss a chance at 6-5, 0-15 on a passing," she regrets.

"But the positive thing is to say that I can reverse the trend and not take 1 and 1. But I would have liked to find solutions sooner," she concluded.

Parmentier thus joins Richard Gasquet to the rank of eliminated tricolor of the day. Alizé Cornet and Gilles Simon qualified for the second round on Tuesday.
