During the previous two years, approximately 35 associations and eight schools use the Karlskrona health arena Blekinge Health Arena at Rosenholm in Karlskrona.

- We have between 1000 and 1500 visitors a week. It is both hockey, gymnastics, figure skating, floorball, handball and then the sports gymnasiums here and every week in their lessons and in their training, says Patric Nilsson, district sports manager, Blekinge Sports Association.

Now, it looks like Friday will be the last time to use the health arena before the doors are locked - something that strikes hard for several associations and schools.

- I think it's really boring. We are here two to three days a week with both the elite handball gymnasium but also with the floorball and football, says Karl-Johan Lång, coach IFK Karlskrona and handball manager Aspero Idrottsgymnasium.

"Hard hit for us"

Karlskrona HK will also be hit hard if the team within the club cannot train in the health arena.

- It has a very big impact for us and this is where we conduct all physics, testing and rehab. It will undoubtedly be a tough blow against us Karlskrona Hockey but also against the elite sport in Blekinge, says Per Rosenqvist, club manager Karlskrona HK.

Get trained outdoors

It was clear on Friday that it was clear that Blekinge Sports Federation is leaving the health arena because the association cannot afford to pay for the operation and no other player is prepared to pay for the business. Although the municipality will pay rent over 2021, it looks like the premises will be empty.

At present, the KHK club manager does not know where the hockey team should take the road if Blekinge Health Arena is closed.

- The A-team is going to Finland at training camp now and then it is outdoor training that may be valid for some time to come. But then we have a problem, says Per Rosenqvist.

Nor does Aspero Sports Gymnasium know how to solve the situation.

- We can sit down for a week and look at different alternatives. For the time being may be outdoors but it is only a period. So that's a question mark right now, says Karl-Johan Lång.
