Florence Mouly, director of Veolia in the South-West region, detailed on Europe 1 the measures put in place in Corrèze to supply several municipalities with drinking water due to the drought.

While 86 departments are affected by water restrictions due to drought, the situation is becoming critical in some places. The lack is such that houses are threatened with being without drinking water. On the Bortois plateau, for example, in the Corrèze, "we have seven communes that can not be fully fed by the stream since it is almost dry", details for Europe 1 Florence Mouly, director of Veolia in the South-West region .

A system of "solidarity" with neighboring cities

Veolia has decided to send tankers to supply the municipalities. "We have set up a system of food solidarity", especially with neighboring cities, explains the regional director. This allows "to add in the network sufficient water to meet the needs of this town".

If the problem is for the moment limited to these seven cities, "it is an extreme situation compared to what has been known so far," notes Florence Mouly. "This year is very special, pumps can no longer absorb the minimum amount of water needed for production."
