Many probably associate the UN initiative Agenda 2030 with climate and the environment. But the goals of Agenda 2030 are more than just that. Three of the seventeen targets address poverty, inequality and peaceful and inclusive communities.

The newspaper Dagens Samhälle has grouped the three goals into a category they call "Inclusive societies" and then compared how well Sweden's municipalities live up to the three goals.

Mora and Gagnef at the top

In the ranking, Dagens Samhälle has chosen to make use of SKL's municipal grouping, which divides the municipalities into three groups (metropolitan municipalities, cities and towns near municipalities and small town and rural municipalities).

Among the municipalities of the Dalarna, Mora municipality ranks top in the ranking of small and rural municipalities. Mora also ends up in fifth place in the whole country.

Gagnef tops the list of cities and municipalities, where the municipality is ranked second overall across the country.

Borlänge and Ludvika at the bottom

In the bottom of the Dalarnas municipalities we find Ludvika among the small town and rural municipalities, while Borlänge falls to the bottom among the cities and urban municipalities.
