“If Senator Johnson wants to come to Russia, he should raise the issue of lifting US sanctions against Russian lawmakers in the Senate,” the Senator wrote on Twitter.

According to him, after the lifting of the sanctions, Moscow will have reason to review the stop lists introduced in response to American politicians.

Johnson had earlier denied a Russian visa. The embassy said that the politician did not apply to the diplomatic mission on this issue.

Later, the Foreign Ministry informed that the senator is in the stop list in response to the inclusion of representatives of Russia.

As diplomats noted, he “presented everything as if he had been refused after the appeal.”
