A traditional photo session at the end of a Group of Seven summit in France's Atlantic resort of Biarritz has sparked controversy on social media, describing it as an event of heightened emotional rather than political tensions.

First lady Melania Trump, 49, set up social networking sites as she greeted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 47, at the end of the summit.

Just as the picture has spread widely on websites around the world, Western newspapers have been interested in highlighting the image of Melania accepting Trudeau as "happiness and warmth" while her husband, Donald Trump, holds her left hand.

The British newspaper The Guardian said in a report on Tuesday that the picture has been widespread on the Internet, as users of social networking sites joked about it.

A group of photos taken by a photographer from the European Press Photo Agency as world leaders and their wives appeared on Sunday evening to take a family photo before the summit ended, showed Melania smiling while greeting Trudeau. The Guardian noted that the warmth of the scene captured the imagination of many.

"Melania is willing to risk everything," one user wrote on Twitter.

Today's Russian network also posted the photo on its Twitter account. "Everybody should find someone who looks the way Melania looks at Justin," she said.

Meanwhile, the husband of Melania, 73-year-old US President Donald Trump, was seen kissing two of the leaders' wives at the summit.

French President Macron's wife seemed indifferent, accepting Trump on his cheek while holding her husband's hand.

Trump's kissing of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, 65, drew the attention of social media pioneers.

Users noticed that Trump closed his eyes while kissing while Merkel's eyes remained open.

It was noted that there was no kissing exchange between British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55, and Trump.
