This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transport Svetlana Petrova.

Earlier it was reported that the department has submitted proposals to the government that are aimed at improving flight safety in Russia.

Petrova noted that the proposals consist of several blocks.

“The fourth block - a huge one - is connected with proposals for improving the pilot training system,” she said.

According to her, funding for pilot training in Russia is about 600 thousand rubles a year, this amount needs to be doubled.

“At present, the standard for financing the training of one pilot per year is about 600 thousand rubles. The required amount of funds for training one pilot per year is twice as much, ”said Petrova.

On May 5, at the Sheremetyevo Airport, 41 people died as a result of an emergency landing followed by the ignition of a Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.

Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika during a speech in the State Duma said that the crash of the SSJ-100 at Sheremetyevo Airport identified serious problems in the Russian aviation industry. He noted that the supervisory authority requires their decision "from authorized state bodies and airlines for several years." As Seagull pointed out, the Federal Air Transport Agency often formally exercises control over the activities of airlines.
