Idleb's question remains crucial for Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Russian president believes that it is necessary firstly to stabilize the situation on the ground in order to start the process of political settlement of the conflict that has lasted for 8 years now.

For his part, the Turkish president deplored the attacks of the Syrian regime, since May, on the last terrorist bastion. Attacks, which according to Reccep Tayyip Erdogan, not only undermine the relative stability that this area knew but now threaten directly, Turkish soldiers deployed in the de-escalation area near Idleb.

The two men also acknowledged that they were actively working on this issue, with Iran in the Astana format that will hold a summit in Turkey next month. More generally, Erdogan and Putin also discussed the situation in the Middle East and more particularly the current developments in Libya.

Finally, the cooperation in gas, civil nuclear, but also weapons during the visit of the MAKS air show, were discussed, Ankara has indeed continue to buy Russian components, after the delivery of air defense systems S -400.
