Kenneth Andershed is a member of the non-profit association Krokborn's Friends who manages the park for the municipality of Hällefors. It was he who got the call from a person who rented the facility that there was no water in the kitchen area.

"Then I thought it was simple," Kenneth Andershed notes sadly. Then when I got there it turned out that it was not at all.

The park has been owned by the municipality of Hällefors since 1963 and has been managed by the association since 1993. The system of pipelines under the house is an older solution, which was however renovated three years ago.

Not as common with copper theft

A crime scene investigation has been done but there are still no traces of the thief. Since the big wave a few years ago, according to the police, it has been relatively quiet when it comes to copper theft.

"Nationally, it still happens, but not at the same level as some years ago," says Anders Mullfors, a police investigator. Probably it is part of the scrap industry becoming better and more aware of what might be theft. But if the goods end up abroad, it may be different.

Plastic may replace

The low price of copper, currently between SEK 20 and SEK 30 per kilo, may be another reason.

However, for Hällefors municipality and Krokborn's Friends, the cost will be considerably higher than the thief can earn.

- We expect SEK 25,000, says Kenneth Anderberg. But this time it will not be copper, it will do with plastic!

Police are looking for witnesses who may have made observations at the park during the current dates.
