"The Ministry of Defense is seriously concerned about China's ongoing attempts to violate an order based on international rules throughout the Indo-Pacific region," the ministry said in a statement.
As the United States emphasized, China resumed “forced intervention” in Vietnam’s oil and gas activities in the South China Sea, thus violating the promise of Defense Minister Wei Fenhe about a peaceful development strategy.
“China will not be able to gain the trust of its neighbors and the respect of the international community, continuing its intimidation tactics,” the Pentagon said.
Earlier, US Presidential Assistant for National Security John Bolton accused China of scaring away other countries from exploiting the resources of the South China Sea.
