Sharjah Education Council announced the opening of two new kindergartens at the beginning of the current academic year, after completing all official procedures, bringing the number of nurseries in the emirate to 28 nurseries, pointing out that the number of students enrolled in nurseries reached nearly 1500 boys and girls and a staff of 344 employees. Mariam Jaber Al Shamsi, Director of Early Childhood Education at the Sharjah Education Council, told Emirates Today that the government nurseries department in the Council has been keen to provide sustainable early care to achieve the comprehensive and integrated growth of the child and to provide an enhanced learning environment for the nursery community. Regular maintenance of nurseries, and the establishment of new nurseries to accommodate the increasing numbers of children, noting that the establishment of two new nurseries, will be opened in conjunction with the beginning of the year, and includes 120 boys and girls, bringing the number of nurseries to 28 nurseries, in addition to two nurseries located in government departments The nursery department only supervises them.

She continued: «The administration in the Council has been keen to build an effective partnership with the guardian to achieve the strategic objectives of the Sharjah Education Council, which qualifies the child to join kindergarten in full readiness, as the number of children this year who were admitted in accordance with the stipulated conditions reached nearly 1500 children ».

Mariam Jaber Al Shamsi added that the incubation department at Sharjah Education Council was able to find new job opportunities for female citizens. The percentage of Emiratisation in all kindergartens reached 100%, whether at the administrative or educational level, as all supervisors, teachers and administrators are citizens who hold a bachelor's degree. The number of female employees reached 344.

She pointed out that there is a high demand for government nurseries, because of the distinctive services provided in terms of attention to children and care, pointing out that children are received on certain conditions, the most important of which is that the mother is working in Sharjah, pointing out that the number of registered in this year To 6000 children via the smartphone app, but children who met all the conditions were received due to the increase in numbers.

The Director of Early Childhood Department pointed out that the nursery sites in the Emirate of Sharjah are determined according to the size of the demand in the suburbs and residential neighborhoods in each city, which is distributed over the city of Sharjah and the central and eastern regions.
