• Sant Sebastià.The beach, closed until the detonation of the bomb

The artisans of the Navy have detonated this Monday the explosive projectile of the Civil War that was found on Sunday by the Civil Guard at the Sant Sebastià beach in Barcelona.

The operation was carried out at 3.35 pm on the high seas - one mile from the coast and about 45 meters deep -, a place where the explosive device had moved with submerged lifting balloons , so it had not been removed of the water.

The bomb, from 1936 and which was not detonated, contained 70 kilos of trilite and was highly volatile , so the Barcelona City Council had extended the perimeter cordoned off to include the beach of Sant Sebastià and the esplanade of the Plaza del Mar before that his detonation proceed.
