A man is shot to death after a large police operation in central Uppsala. Police are alerted to a suspected abuse against a woman in Uppsala. There, the man abuses a police officer who is hit by a chain in the head. A police chase begins and a patrol later sees the man on a bike path in Ulleråker. Here, a police officer is stabbed in the shoulder with a knife and the police fire four shots at the man who later dies in hospital.

The man's daughter has criticized the shooting death, partly because the father must have had contact with psychiatry for several years, and that she thinks the police should have other tools and routines for how they handle mentally ill people.

On October 31, it was found that the police officers who were shooting were acting in emergency defense, and the preliminary investigation into service failures was closed.
