As a spokesman for the agency Vitezslav Gezki said, one of the two Boeing 737 engines failed during a flight over the Aegean Sea shortly after taking off from Samos.

The crew could not start it and it was decided to continue the flight, reducing the height.

After 2.5 hours, the plane landed without incident at the airport in Prague, while the passengers were not warned about the incident.

“When the engine fails, pilots usually land the plane at the nearest airport. Flying with one engine is possible, but huge problems can arise if the second engine suddenly fails. In this case, the plane actually turns into a glider, ”RIA Novosti quoted Gezki as saying.

However, the representative of Smartwings airline Vladimir Dufkov said that the crew kept the situation under control throughout the flight.

“At the moment, in accordance with the current rules, a study and evaluation of the flight is in progress,” she said.

Earlier it was reported that all parts of the Ural Airlines Airbus A321 aircraft were taken out of the corn field in the Moscow Region, which on August 15 made an emergency landing after both engines failed, presumably due to a flock of seagulls falling into them.

Test pilot Vadim Bazykin, in an interview with the 360 channel, emphasized that the A321 pilots made the right decision to land the aircraft on the ground without a landing gear.
