The Swedes love tacos and every year Santa Maria produces 370 million tortilla breads. But now many Swedes' Friday favorites may be in the danger zone - at least in the short term. The loaves are ending in several parts of the country.

- We are relaunching our entire range of tortillas and in this it will easily be a waste when we bring brand new packaging. But it's about days before it's back on the shelves, says Eva Berglie, communications manager at Santa Maria.

Hope to resolve the situation soon

But at the same time, the company is in talks with the food giant Ica, which has pulled out over time. And several consumers have heard and asked why their product is no longer visible on the shelves.

As far as Ica is concerned, no clear message can be given, but here too it is hoped that the taco crisis will be resolved shortly.

- At the Ica stores there are negotiations that have gone longer than expected. It's about which range you want to take in, she tells SVT.

But for the tacos enthusiast, after all, Coop and Ica's own selection of tortilla bread remains.
