• Dangers: More than 70% of drowned children could not swim or use a float

Two tourists saved the life of a 19-month-old baby who had fallen into the pool of a hotel in Palma on Saturday. The boy's parents, a couple of Dutch, had fallen asleep when the child crawled and rushed into the water, as reported in Mallorca Confidential.

Seeing him fall into the water, two women, who were also staying in that same hotel in the San Agustí area, threw themselves into the pool and rescued the baby alive.

Emergency personnel from SAMU, Local Police and National Police, who resuscitated him and stabilized him, moved to the scene.

Once resuscitated in situ, with the vital signs recovered, the baby was taken to the Son Espases hospital.
