The new painting will adorn a firewall at a farmhouse on Mariagatan in Nässjö. It is the artist Anders Sunna from Jokkmokk who this year has been commissioned to decorate a wall in central Nässjö with a painting.

Anders Sunna is engaged in Sami visual art, which is about social transformation, power structures, minorities and post-colonial oppression.

The work on painting the wall is expected to take a week and the painting will be inaugurated on Friday, August 30, by the municipal council's chair Anna-Carin Magnusson (S) and the municipal council Laila Norss (KD).

Exhibition in Nässjö Art Hall

Anders Sunna's art can also be viewed in Nässjö Art Hall for just over a month from August 24. There, Sunna will later also give a lecture on her art.

The mural project is being implemented by the municipality of Nässjö in collaboration with Hotell Högland.
