Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha-SRT) fell in the first lap of the British motorcycle GP in a clash with Italy's Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) who had to be evacuated on a stretcher Sunday at the circuit. Silverstone.

Quartararo, who started 4th in the grid's second row, dropped in the first corner and led Dovizioso, who finished second in the world championship standings.

The young Frenchman, who is making his first season in MotoGP, has risen to his feet as the Italian's Ducati caught fire.

The race was not interrupted, however, and Marc Marquez (Honda), the Spanish championship leader, led eight laps ahead of his compatriot Alex Rins (Suzuki).

No information could be obtained immediately on the state of health of Dovizioso who was leaving him on the 3rd line after having signed the 7th time qualifying.

Quartararo, 20, made a name for himself in his first season in the MotoGP Queen class, earning 3 poles and 3 podiums with a second place finish at the GP of Catalonia in June.
